Host a Seminar in Your Community

Bringing evidence-informed, age-appropriate education to your parish, school, or community is simple. By hosting an Anchored Youth Education seminar, you create a welcoming and respectful environment where young people and their families can navigate the important transition into adolescence with knowledge, confidence, and support.

Each seminar is personally led by Dr. Nicole Martinez, a doctorally prepared, board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and university educator. With more than 20 years of experience in clinical practice and higher education, Dr. Martinez brings together clinical expertise, teaching experience, and a compassionate, faith-informed approach to help families engage in meaningful conversations about growing up. Dr. Martinez brings an unmatched clinical authority, a calm demeanor, and a faith-filled perspective to your community.

Host or Hostess FAQs

As the host or hostess, you are our vital partner on the ground. Whether you are a parent, Parish Ministry Leader, a School Principal, or a Youth Troop Leader, here are a few answers to your questions about what we need to ensure a successful event.

What type of venue or environment is best?

  • The Space: A parish hall, school classroom, or a spacious living room works beautifully.

  • The Setup: A small table for teaching aids plus a TV screen compatible with an HDMI cable.

  • The "Living-Room" Feel: We strictly avoid crowded auditorium-style setups where kids shut down. Seating should feel close and conversational so preteens feel secure enough to engage.

Who coordinates the guests or group size?

  • To ensure Dr. Martinez can interact meaningfully with every child, groups of 8 parent-child couples or fewer are highly encouraged. The host or hostess can determine the invited guests. If your school or parish has a larger interest, we recommend booking sequential, back-to-back blocks.

  • Hosts or Hostesses must communicate that this is strictly not a drop-off event. To build ongoing communication, a parent or guardian- preferably of the same gender- must register and attend alongside their child.

What does the Host or Hostess have to do?

  • We look to the host or hostess to provide hospitality and coordinate simple refreshments (water, juice, and light snacks) for the 15-minute intermission to keep the atmosphere warm and welcoming.
